The surgical procedure involves removing excess breast tissue through liposuction and/or direct excision via a semi-circular incision around the areola
Gynaecomastia, or the development of excess tissue in the male chest, is common during puberty and often resolves on its own. In some cases, it may persist due to factors such as hormonal changes, medication side effects, medical conditions, alcohol use, or genetic influences. In many instances, the exact cause remains unclear.
Before considering surgery, a thorough assessment is recommended to determine potential underlying causes. Gynaecomastia typically consists of a combination of glandular tissue and fat deposits. Surgical treatment may involve liposuction, direct glandular tissue removal, or a combination of both, with incisions carefully placed along the areola for a discreet outcome.
Following surgery, a compression garment is worn for approximately six weeks to support healing and enhance contour.
